When thinking of Dean Blotto Gray, many people will first think of “Blotto”. This household nickname has become ubiquitous with the life he’s built around a union of connection and creativity. Raised in the Southwest (USA) and propelled around the globe by the stories he both lives and tells, Dean’s passion for creation has blossomed into a diverse body of work. His products take many forms: photographs, scrapbooks, abstract painting, immersive collaged environments, travel books, photo shows, product and art collaborations, and much more. While the formats he works within change, the content consistently focuses on the stuff of memories—exceptionally sensory moments in real human life. Many of his subjects involve skateboards, snowboards, and other vehicles for interacting with our surroundings, but always people, the natural world, or both. While he currently resides on the East Coast, he considers himself at home wherever the job, family, or friends take him, and remains joyfully committed to finding new and unique ways to share his discoveries along the way.
